FAQ

THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

  • When doing fashion shows, how do you recruit or procure your models?
For many of the shows that I've been involved with, the models have often been tied directly to an event... but I am not averse to the idea of finding an inspirational new face to help push my brand and have also worked closely with a modelling agency who are always looking for new runway and catalogue talent. Follow and tag me on instagram using a picture that best endorses your look in regards to my brand and I'll try to promptly feed back to you. Please try to remember that the majority of my runway work is made for women over 5'8" and men exceeding 6'.
  • Do you ever offer internships?
I recently started an internship scheme for young fashion and fashion marketing students and it’s been going great. This August will also see me participate in my first up-cycling fashion workshop and is taking place at the "Africa in Fashion - Styling Tomorrow" Southbank Centre in London on the 26th. It's going to be a lot to cram into a short period, but I hope to at least give every attendee an accessible look into how they can rejuvenate or rework old fashion classics.
  • Why are you so focused on recycling and up-cycling, as opposed to investing in brand new sustainable organic and synthetic materials?
Despite the fashion industries best efforts to mitigate some of the damage it has inflicted upon the environment, on a global level alone it still continues to pollute and poison precious and fragile ecosystems. Water use within the fashion sector alone accounts for roughly ninety three billion cubic metres annually. That might be scary as a number, but to put it into perspective, someone would have to dig a reservoir that had the same square area as Malta to a depth of one metre to account for that much waste water. That said, I do make use of sustainable synthetic and organic fabrics at times and I myself have researched and created such textiles, but litter has to go somewhere and given that I was born and lived in Kenya and that I also lived and worked in Ghana… countries that through economic pressure have made agreements to take on the world’s waste, I’ve pondered that one of the only truly responsible options in regard to tackling this problem, lies in us utilising and leveraging those things we regularly choose to discard, by forging them into better high-end items that people will more likely cherish and look after… ... all the while, building a brand that everyone recognises as promoting integrity and accountability via strict processes and logistics.
  • Do you ever work with collaborators?
Obviously I need to know who is approaching me and their purpose, but collaboration promotes learning and I am always open to fusing audiences on a proactive project. I have been so lucky to have made the acquaintance of one truly exceptional fashion mentor in my quest so far and I'm sure there are more out there and hopefully people I can motivate. Please email any and all serious enquiries on this matter to me, with an outline of what the objective and theme is.
  • I know that many of your items are recycled and as pieces of art, imperfections are part of their charm, but if I end up receiving a damaged item or if it doesn’t fit, can I return it?
At Carolinemosyemi, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not, we offer a 14-day return policy from the date of delivery. Please check our returns page for more information.
